On a warm afternoon the Reserves opened their league campaign with a poor result. Despite dominating the majority of the play and playing some great football at times, we lacked a cutting edge and defended poorly against 3 quickfire counter attacks in the first half. 3-0 down at half time was never anywhere near a reflection of the play, however, credit to Ramblers who finished their chances clinically whereas The Whit struggled to breakdown a resilient Ramblers back line. We did nick a goal back through Charlie Nicholas within the first quarter of the second half, however, no further clear cut chances were created and as the game got stretched towards the end, only the woodwork and Steve Martin's fingertip save prevented the scoreline from being of further embarassment to The Whit. All in all a decent performance which seems strange to say given the scoreline - just one of those days (I hope)
